Pretentious Student Film

Film made with my friends back in 12th grade, Winner for best writing and comedy for BCSFF 2011.
Sean Depner created the awesome script and storyline for this ten minute film.

The film was pressed for time and several parts were rushed, yet its still a overall a solid film!

Now Or Never - Travelling Cape Scott 2010

Part 1

Part 2

A documentary during the hiking to the northern tip of Vancouver Island, it's one of the location that receives highest precipitation in North America.

I'm super glad that it didn't rain much while we are there; or else that would've made filming ten times harder and the hiking miserable.

The editing took about 10 months, working from time to time after running through 4 hours of footage.

Lego War of the World

I usually don't have the enough patience to do a stop-motion film, but it's the lego that makes me want to make these films. It a way it also feels a lot like live-action film with lighting, setting and using the camera. Sometimes it's a great relief to stay away from Cintiqs and paper for a change.

I chose to make War of the World alien invasion during a war fought between humans.

The problem is... after several thousand image stills, the labor starts to get ya.  (But the pay off is great.)

The studio itself is in a very tight place. All I can say is, thank you!!! Green Screen!!!!

The tripod itself is pretty tiny. Extremely flimsy too. The tentacle legs were
added on later during post-production.

Editing Practice

My friend Seth and I decided to recut a film "No Country for Oldman" and create a trailer.
All I have to say is, the power of editing is super vital to film-making.

Cal Arts Character Animators TERRORIZED!!

I thought it would be pretty cool to walk around in the cubes with a labtop that has a eerie comic from a website. The cam on the screen was recording while they are focusing really hard on the weird scary comic thingy.
